Storyline Steward Terms
Version 2026-10-10.1. Effective 2026-10-10.
Pilot draft. Subject to legal review.
These terms explain the responsibility that comes with starting or managing a Storyline.
Steward responsibilities
- Review contributions before they are published.
- Approve only contributions that fit the Storyline purpose and guidelines.
- Do not knowingly publish private, harmful, defamatory, misleading, or unauthorized material.
- Respect each contributor's display name, credit choice, and privacy preferences.
- Use contributions only in ways allowed by the contributor's release.
- Remember that contributors keep ownership of their own stories, photos, artwork, poems, and other materials.
- Hold or reject contributions that need clarification or do not fit the Storyline.
- Keep contributor assertions, sourced evidence, and AI-generated reconstructions distinguishable; do not present a reconstruction as a photograph or verified evidence of an event.
- Preserve synthetic-media disclosures, source credit, and material uncertainty in public pages, embeds, and exports.
- Review images for misrepresentation, stereotypes, identity changes, and permissions involving the people depicted.
- Give contributors a practical correction and removal path. Reviewers may review stories; collection settings and reviewer assignments belong to the collection owner.
Outputs
Approved contributions may be used in story pages, packets, reports, presentations, slideshows, printed pieces, or documentary-style drafts only when the contributor permissions allow that use.
Pilot limits
Storyline is still a pilot. Features may change, exports may need extra review, and some workflows may require manual stewardship.
